The Mackinac Bridge is currently the fifth longest suspension bridge in the world. Located at the tip of Michigan's mitten peninsula connecting the lower and upper peninsula. This five mile long suspension bridge with a height above water of 199 feet  opened to traffic on November 1, 1957.
